Lovely Local Walks
We encourage guests to take in the beautiful local countryside on foot. We are dog-friendly across our site. There is a network of local footpaths across our family farmland for you and your four-legged friend to explore including the beach.

Climping Parish
Make sure you explore our ancient and pretty parish. With its timeworn cottages, weathered flint walls and winding country lane, Climping really takes you on a journey back in time.

Climping Beach
Climping Street leads a few minutes’ walk towards the beach where you will be immersed in the natural beauty of the area. Its blend of history and nature drawing you closer to the peaceful stretch of beach that awaits. The endless horizon and the rhythmic crash of waves offers a perfect end to your journey.
Climping has witnessed coastal change over the centuries including the once adjoining villages of Atherington and Cudlow, washed away by sea many centuries ago. There are no shortage of smuggling tales and legends surrounding this beach and village. If you look carefully, you can just see a few buildings left of the village of Atherington still standing.

Climping Beach is a popular shingle beach permitting dogs year-round. Our farmland backs onto the beach from West Beach at Littlehampton to the rock islands at Elmer. There are many dog-friendly footpaths from the camping field across our farmland to the beach.

Guests should, note, however, that the beach is currently undergoing natural erosion. Subsequent works to create a shingle bank to aid realignment of the coastline has resulted in access on foot only. It is therefore necessary to climb up and over the shingle beach. It is not unfortunately accessible via wheelchair.

Climping Street Hidden Gems
Within walking distance, south of both Piglets and Woodpecker three hidden gems can be found:
The Black Horse Pub, established in the 17th Century is a popular and friendly local haunt for families and visitors to the area. Open for all meals/refreshments, accessible, dog and child friendly. Music & Quiz nights.

Bailiffscourt Hotel for lunch, dinner, afternoon tea. Spa for swimming pool, beauty treatments,

Further afield, a short drive will take you to other local eateries including Serving Thyme & Edgecumbes cafés in Ford; the Arun View, Mussel Row, Fred's Fish'n Chips in Littlehampton or many others in Arundel
