Woodpecker Camping

Our camping field is located in a three-acre field enclosed by high hedges and located within a short walk to the beach and local pubs. We can be found in historic Climping, a small village on the coast and not far from the South Downs National Park.

We are beside the A259 making it handy to access other local holiday spots such as Arundel, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis. Amenities include two family shower rooms with under-floor heating, two other hot water showers and flushing toilets. We also offer a camp facilities room with two hot water sinks, a fridge, a freezer, microwave, electric oven, hob and electric kettle. Plenty of electric plugs for your hairdryer (mirrors on the wall) and phone charger.

We pride ourselves on our sustainability and responsible tourism to ensure that all our guests have a memorable stay. This includes a ground source heat pump and solar panels.

Local Area

Walks

We encourage our guests to enjoy convening with nature and exploring the local area on foot during local walks. There are many public footpaths and dog-friendly areas to explore. We are a dog-friendly site (please see our Dog Policy here).

Climping Beach

Climping Street leads directly to Climping Beach, a popular shingle beach permitting dogs year-round. It is a few minutes’ walk away. Our farmland backs onto the beach from West Beach at Littlehampton to the rock islands at Elmer. There is a network of dog-friendly footpaths from the property, across our farmland to the beach.

Guests should, note, however, that it is currently undergoing natural erosion. Subsequent works to create a shingle bank to aid realignment of the coastline has resulted in access on foot only. It is necessary to climb up and over the shingle beach. It is not accessible via wheelchair.

Accessible Beaches Nearby

Local beaches such as at Littlehampton and Bognor Regis both have accessible seafront promenades. Nearby West Wittering beach (a 10-mile drive) has free balloon tyre wheelchairs to navigate sand available, pre-booking is required.

Please see https://www.westwitteringestate.co.uk/accessibility/ for more information.
