  • Can I sleep in my car or van instead of bringing a tent ?
    Sleeping in cars or vans is not permitted unless the vehicle has side windows, sufficient ventilation, and specially designed internal sleeping accommodation, such as fully reclining seats. A tent attachment for clothes changing purposes must be erected whenever a car/van is being used for sleeping purposes. Any windows in such units should have adequate curtains or blinds to ensure privacy. If you are in any doubt whether your vehicle will be allowed on our sites, please contact us with photos of your conversion for approval via email to the campsite directly info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk
  • Can under 18's book a pitch to stay by themselves ?
    Sorry, No. All under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Do you offer a single person discount?
    Yes we do, just select “1 adult” when booking and a £5 discount will automatically be applied to your booking.
  • Can I arrive late ?
    We try to maintain a reasonable arrival time for the wellbeing of all guests, especially those who are already on site and may have children to persuade to get to sleep ! We have some non-electric pitches by the gate in the event that you are unable to arrive by 7pm. Please email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk to arrange this. Please note that if you do arrive late onto the "Late arrival Gate Pitches", you will still need to be respectful of other Campers in the morning by not moving to your allocated pitch before 11am.
  • What if my tent is bigger than my allocated pitch ?
    If your unit is larger than the size of your pitch, then you may be asked to pay for an additional pitch, or park your vehicle in the additional vehicles area in the North Field. This way you can maximise the use of your pitch and stay within the boundary line. It is best to check this prior to booking or arrival.   • What time can I arrive to check in ?
    You are welcome to arrive from 12pm until 7pm. We try to maintain a reasonable arrival time for the wellbeing of all guests, especially those who are already on site. We have some non-electric pitches by the gate in the event that you are unable to arrive by 7pm. Please email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk to arrange this. If you are booking to arrive on the same day please do not book after 7pm as you may not be allocated a pitch or receive the check-in information.
  • Can I camp in a Bivvy ?
    Yes, you can camp in a Bivvy if the unit has sides, and no other campers can see inside. This is for both your privacy and the other campers.
  • Are assistance dogs and guide dogs allowed on site ?
    Yes, absolutely, in accordance with national guidelines. Please let us know in advance by email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk that you are bringing them. No need to add them to your booking as there is no charge for these dogs.
  • Where can I deposit my dogs waste ?
    You can deposit bagged dogs waste into the general waste bin at the entrance to the Camping Field by the Yellow Gate.
  • Can I bring my dog ?
    Yes, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome: please add your dog/s onto your booking - up to 2 per pitch. There is a charge of £1.00 each for dogs. Please see our dog policy here The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (i.e. XL Bully, PitBull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasileiro).
  • I have booked an electric pitch for my Caravan, Motorhome or Camper what type of cable shall I bring ?
    Minimum 12 metres 3 Pin Heavy Duty, 240V 16amp You will need a cable with one of these on each end for your Caravan, Motorhome or Camper.
  • What type of torch should I bring ?
    Bring enough good quality torches and batteries for everyone in your party as the main parts of the site are unlit.
  • Is there a Woodpecker map of pitches?

  • I have booked an electric pitch for my Tent, what type of cable shall I bring ?
    You will need to bring an extension lead with blue 3 pin to plug into the electric socket. Minimum 12 metres 3 Pin Heavy Duty, 240V 16amp Something with normal 3 pin sockets to use inside your tent. Always fully extend electric cables as they can overheat when coiled.
  • Can I pay in a foreign currency ?
    Payment is made via Stripe which supports adaptive pricing in the currency from up to 40 countries.
  • Can I book a late checkout ?
    Yes, late check out can be booked for a small fee and allows you to stay until 5pm. This is subject to availability. Alternatively you can relocate to another space within the Camping Field subject to availability. Please send email to Alison with your request. info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk
  • When will I receive checkin information ?
    After your booking is confirmed you will receive an automatic booking confirmation email, followed by a 2nd, Welcome to Woodpecker email advising Directions to get here, how to get in and find your allocated Pitch Number. Please ensure that you have read this information and shared it with any others in your group who may be arriving separately. You will receive this information by return if your booking is made less than 6 days prior to arrival. i.e. if you book at 3pm on the day of arrival you will receive your checkin information as soon as your pitch has been allocated to you. After 7pm you will not be able to make a booking as there are no arrivals after 7pm.
  • How do I cancel a booking ?
    Please do this via our website. If you definitely want to cancel (rather than amend/postpone) your booking, please login to our website (your email is your password) and click 'Cancel this booking'. You can do this up to 7 days of your arrival date. To view the cancellation policy for your booking, view the booking page or see your confirmation email. No refunds/discounts for transport issues, inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures. In the event of death or serious illness of anyone in your booking party or their immediate family members, refunds of deposits may be granted (at our discretion). Refunds can only be issued on presentation of supporting evidence. We define 'immediate family' as spouse/registered partner, co-habiting partner, children, parents, parents-in-law, siblings, siblings-in-law, grandparents and grandparents-in-law.
  • Can I bring an additional vehicle ?
    Yes, there are ample car parking spaces for 2nd vehicles in the North Field, please see Map and signage. Please let us know you are bringing them. info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk
  • is my deposit refundable or transferable to another date ?
    Sorry, No, deposits cannot be refunded or transferred to other bookings.
  • I haven't had a confirmation email. Have I made a booking ?
    If you are not sure whether you have made a booking, please check your bank statement. There you will find the booking ID, reference if the booking has gone through. Your booking ID will also feature on the booking summary text sent to you at time of booking, if you opted to receive one. If you don't receive an email right away, please check your spam/junk folder and mark the email "not spam". Please also make sure to check any other email accounts you may have as a different email address may have been used to make the booking. If you can't find your confirmation and would like us to resend it, please email us at info@woodpecker.co.uk
  • How do I amend a booking ?
    To amend a booking please do this via the Bookings page of our website, your email address will be your password. If there are less than 7 days until your arrival please email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk with your request. Amendments are subject to availability and date changes must be within the same season.
  • When can I get a refund ?
    Refunds less the deposit of 15% for any reason are available up to 7 days prior to the arrival date. After that date: No refunds/discounts for transport issues, inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures. In the event of death or serious illness of anyone in your booking party or their immediate family members, refunds of deposits may be granted (at our discretion). Refunds can only be issued on presentation of supporting evidence. We define 'immediate family' as spouse/registered partner, co-habiting partner, children, parents, parents-in-law, siblings, siblings-in-law, grandparents and grandparents-in-law.   • Is there a minimum stay ?
    Yes, Sun to Thurs 1 night Fri - Sat - or Sat - Sun 2 nights Bank Holidays - 3 nights Fri - Sat - Sun or Sat - Sun - Mon On the actual day of a weekend or bank holiday it may be possible to arrange shorter stays subject to availability. Email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk
  • How do you charge for children ?
    Children over 2 years old have the same charge as Adults. Children under 2 years old are classed as Infants and so are not charged. Please mention how many you are bringing in the special requests notes.
  • Can I pitch next to my friend/family member ?
    Yes, please add this to the special request section at the time of booking and we will allocate your pitches as you request, subject to availability.
  • Can I leave feedback during or following my stay ?
    Yes, by all means we encourage your feedback to fix anything before it becomes a problem and make your stay comfortable. Email info@woodpecker.co.uk
  • Where can I deposit my waste ?
    There are 3 Bins at the entrance by the Yellow Gate - Glass - all glass bottles Recycle - loose items NO BLACK bags NO POLYSTERENE - see the label on the bin for acceptable items General Waste - bagged for landfill and Bagged dog waste There are small bins for toilet waste items by the flushing toilets There is a small food waste caddy by the washing up sinks for coffee grounds etc
  • Do you allow barbeques ?
    Charcoal and gas BBQs are allowed on our campsites for cooking purposes only, providing they are raised off the ground and not used inside enclosed spaces. BBQs must be extinguished by 9pm. Bricks are around the Camping Field for this purpose. PLEASE NOTE DISPOSABLE BBQs MUST BE DISPOSED OF RESPONSIBLY. PLEASE DO NOT THROW THEM IN THE HEDGE OR PUT THEM INTO THE WASTE BIN WHILE THEY ARE STILL HOT. THEY WILL COOL DOWN OVERNIGHT ON THE BRICKS YOU USED TO COOK THEM ON.   • Can I charge my EV vehicle on site ?
    Yes, subject to availability via an outside 3 pin plug The Piglets next door for a fee. Or using one of the EHU for a fee. email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk or locally: Tesco Tesco Stores Ltd, Broad Piece, Wick, Littlehampton BN17 5RA 2 miles drive Sainsbury’s 01903 641820 New Road, Rustington A full size Sainsbury's, including Lloyds Pharmacy, ATM, photo booth, car wash, key cutting, and Specsavers. An EV charging station can be found here. 2.2 Miles Drive Asda Ferring 01903 540100 Littlehampton Road, Ferring A large ASDA store with pharmacy, opticians, cafe, exchange bureau, George clothing and an ATM.   • Can I have a campfire ?
    Campfires are not permitted at our camping field. Charcoal and gas BBQs are allowed on our campsites for cooking purposes only, providing they are raised off the ground and not used inside enclosed spaces. BBQs must be extinguished by 9pm. PLEASE NOTE DISPOSABLE BBQs must be allowed to completely cool before disposing of them in the General Waste bin. Overnight on the bricks is best. Please do not throw them into the hedge.
  • What time must I check out by ?
    You need to vacate your pitch by 11am as the next guests will be arriving from 12pm. For any other time please email info@woodpecker.co.uk as it may be possible for you to vacate the pitch, but still remain on site in a different parking area for the remainder of the day. This is handy if you intend to visit the beach on your checkout day. Please let Alison know if you would like to do this.
  • Do you have a freezer block exchange ?
    Yes we do, it is called Freezer Swop Shop and is in the freezer in the Camp facilities room. Please remember to replace the swopped freezer packs before you leave to enable the next campers to continue swopping !
  • What are quiet times ?
    Quiet times are from 10.00pm to 6am when no music is permitted and you are asked not to disturb any other Campers close by - remember you are 3m from everyone else and vehicle doors slamming can also be extremely disturbing !! So all radio/tv/music must be kept to the lowest of volumes only - so as not to be audible or disturbing to your neighbours in any way. You are welcome to use your Headphones.
  • Can I have visitors to my pitch ?
    Yes, please let us know they are coming and they can park their vehicle/s on the car parking spaces in the North Field. Approved Visitors are permitted between 11am and 10pm. If they subsequently wish to stay overnight you will need to book them in as additional guests on your pitch - up to 6 persons maximum per pitch. email info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk or call Alison directly on 07973250055.
  • I have a complaint - who should I contact ?
    Please contact Alison as soon as possible, preferably whilst you are still onsite so that it can be resolved quickly to enable you to enjoy your stay. info@woodpeckercamping.co.uk.
  • Can I leave a review ?
    Yes, please do as we love to her about your experiences of staying with us and also see any relevant photographs. Reviews, feedback and suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Please do this via our website under the "Write a review" section.
